For something there is no substitute in life……

Many of my principles I follow in my life are good old one. I believe old is gold. It must be because, I got it from my mother. My mother was a dedicated, hard working lady, she feed her eight children with love and affection. I never recall my mother hate somebody. I am the last in our family. But the most unfortunate thing in my life is I don’t have my mother to pay my retribution. I don’t have my father either. I lost both of them.

Parents are the best person in the world to know what is best for their children. There is no substitute for this one. I may rule this world, or I may create one more world. I may become a God, but what is the use, if I don’t have my mother and father during their last days and keep them happy. I don’t have the opportunity to pay back. There is no substitute for this endeavour. I attribute my success to my mother.

My mother always used to tell, “There must be principles in life without that you are a dead man”. Success is the ingredients of life and it must be based on principles. In deed a great word to follow. In fact the recipe for success is very simple. These are all the things you don’t have any substitute

Hard work

Crystal clear ideas or vision

Honest to yourself and honest to others

Good team or circle or friends.

There is no substitute for hard work in this world. I mean it both physical and mental work. Some people used to call for smart work rather than hard work. Smart work is your brain is working hard than your body. Your brain is working hard than any others brain. The basic idea remains the same – work hard. When 4 years back, when I started a company, Pondy Farm Machinery at Villupuram, every body was unsure of the prospect. I worked hard, I carefully chose the product portfolio, American John Deer Tractors, German Class harvester. I used to meet farmers 6’O clock in the morning and worked late in to the night. Now we are largest Farm machinery seller in Tamil Nadu. Now it is a private Limited company, Pondy Farm Machinery Pvt. Ltd and the business is running into crores of rupees. The success comes because of hard work. You know “success breads success”. Once you have tasted the success, you will never wish to fail.

My second venture is started back two and half years back. In fact this is my dream project. I have this in my mind during my International business studies. I want to be in the field of cross-cultural management. In this field I have no one to follow. It is new area. I have to set the rules for this game. I am learning the Japanese Language to take on the Japanese. We already have our training partners in Nish PARK Japan, and Asia Gate in China. We have Accenture, Paragon Corporation, DSL, Ford Foundation in our client list. Our contract with Matushitha, Japan is starting from 2011. Last financial year 2008-2009 we made 7.5 crores. It is because of hard work. Literally, my rest time is while I was travelling in the car and in the bus. I love to sleep at the time.

There is no short cut to succeed in life. You have to work hard. Set all other small things aside.

Clear ideas about the things your dealing is a must. You should have clear idea about ‘where you are standing at present and where you want to go’. A critical assessment is must. You should know where you standing. This is must. You must know this is your strength, what is your weakness, which field you like the best, which field you want to enter. Most of them failed in this stage, because they over evaluate themselves. Some of them do not make an attempt because of the fear of failure. This world is for the people only who has the confidence to take the challenge. You have to redefine your boundaries and stretch on your boundaries to stay on in the race. I am one among the horses. I am warrior. I wish to fight. My mother used to tell in Tamil, “ Life is a battle field, you have to fight. Battle field may change, but the battle is always there”.

In order to define the clear ideas, I wish to give an example. In the 60’s there was challenges and race between the Americans and the Russians over the dominance of space. After the world war –II, the Russians lost to the Americans to develop the Atomic Bomb. The wanted to fight back and went a head with their space program. The Russians put the first satellite on the space. The Americans were shocked and they also wanted to put a satellite on space. Americans started to work on to put a satellite on space. By the time the Russians put a Dog, a living being on the space. The Americans were paralyzed, what to do put a satellite on space or a dog on space. They were debating. By the time the Russians put a monkey on the space, then they put first human, Yugri Garagarin on the space. The Americans were behind, they were directionless and they don’t have clear idea what to do next to beat the Russians.

Then came the president of USA to their rescue. A clear target was give. Put men on the moon. A time limit was also given. Now the US scientist was faced with clear cut destination. NASA was at its feet. Now the right question are all coming up. If we have to go to Moon. How to travel the distance.? What type of vehicle (rocket) should be made?. How to with stand the heat generated while travelling and coming back.? A whole lot of new set of question crop up and answer has to be sought. The rest is history, Americans move a head of the Russian in the space race. It is because of the clear vision where we want to go.

I used to ask students of 10th std and 11th std, what do you wan to become. The best answer any one can get is ‘I want to become a doctor’, or ‘I want to become an engineer’. It is not a clear idea. It is only half way through. If any one has the clear idea, the answer should be, ‘I want to become a doctor’ still more specific, a doctor specialized in Heart, doctor specialized in brain etc. and I wan to be one of the best doctor in the field and my name should be there, in the list of 10 best doctor’s in the country. That is specific. If any body want to be the # 1 in the list that is fantastic. A clear vision in deed. I defined a clear vision for my company and it is in our website.

Japanese Toilets

basic information

There are two types of toilets in Japan: "Japanese style" and "Western style".

Public washrooms are usually equipped with Japanese style toilets, but the number of public washrooms with Western style toilets has increased significantly, especially in tourist areas. Public washrooms with both Japanese and Western style toilets are also common.

Because toilet paper is sometimes not provided in public washrooms, it is recommended to always carry a small package of tissues with you. Similarly, because paper towels or dryers are not always provided, it is recommended to carry a handkerchief.

Toilets in private homes are mostly Western style. Many modern toilets feature luxury options such as a heated seat, a built-in shower and dryer and an automatic lid opener.

Usual Japanese style

Elevated Japanese style

How to use Japanese style toilets:

1)

Face the hood of the toilet.

2)

Pull down your trousers completely below your knees.

3)

Squat down as closely to the hood as possible. In case of elevated toilets (see picture), you need to stand on the raised platform while squatting.

When using the washroom in a private home, minshuku or ryokan, you will find toiletslippers for exclusive usage inside the washroom. Leave your usual slippers outside the washroom, and do not forget to change back into them, afterwards.

Japanese Bathrooms

basic information

In Japan the main purpose of taking a bath, besides cleaning your body, is relaxation at the end of the day.

The typical Japanese bathroom consists of two rooms, an entrance room where you undress and which is equipped with a sink, and the actual bathroom which is equipped with a shower and a deep bath tub. The toilet is almost always located in an entirely separate room.

When bathing Japanese style, you are supposed to first rinse your body outside the bath tub with a washbowl. Afterwards, you enter the tub, which is used for soaking only. The bath water tends to be relatively hot for Western bathing standards.

After soaking, leave the tub and clean your body with soap. Make sure that no soap gets into the bathing water. Once you finished cleaning and have rinsed all the soap off your body, enter the bath tub once more for a final soaking.

After leaving the tub, the water is usually left for the next member of the house. It is to keep the bath water clean for all members of the house that washing and rinsing is done outside of the actual bathtub.

Modern bath tubs can be programmed to be automatically filled with water of a given temperature at a given time, or to heat up the water to a preferred temperature.

Talking About Love

Part 1: "I love you" in Japanese

One of the most popular phrases in any language is probably "I love you." In Japanese, "love" is "ai (愛)," and the verb form "to love" is "aisuru (愛する)." "I love you" can be literally translated as "aishite imasu (愛しています)". "Aishiteru (愛してる)," "aishiteru yo (愛してるよ)" or "aishiteru wa (愛してるわ,female speech)" is normally used in conversation. However, the Japanese don't say "I love you" as often as Western people do, because of cultural differences. I am not surprised if some Japanese say that they have never used these expressions in their life.

The Japanese generally don't express their love openly. They believe that love can be expressed by manners. When they put their feelings into words, it is preferred to use the phrase "suki desu (好きです)". It literally means, "to like." "Suki da (好きだ)," "suki dayo" (好きだよ, male speech) or "suki yo (好きよ, female speech)" are more colloquial expressions. There are many variations of this phrase, including regional dialects (hogen). "Suki yanen (好きやねん)" is one of the versions in Kansai-ben (the Kansai dialect). Since the phrase can also mean "I love it," and because of the popularity of Kansai-ben, it is used as the name of an instant noodle soup product (See the picture below).

If you like somebody or something very much, "dai (literally means, big)" can be added as the prefix, and say "daisuki desu (大好きです)."

There is another word to describe "love" which is "koi(恋)." The kanji character for "kokoro (, heart)" is included as part of both kanji characters. Compare the kanji characters below (From left "kokoro," "ai" and "koi").

Both "ai (愛)" and "koi(恋)" can roughly be translated as "love" in English. However, they have a slightly different nuance. To find out about it, we will take a look at the words including "ai" or "koi"

Talking About Love

Part 2: Ai and Koi

Here are some words including "ai (愛)" or "koi (恋)."

The words including "ai"

The words including "koi"

母性愛
(mother's love, maternal affection)

renai

hakuai

shitsuren
失恋
(disappointed love)

"Koi" is a love for the opposite sex, or a longing feeling for a specific person. It can be described as "romantic love" or "passionate love." While "ai" has the same meaning as "koi," it also has a definition of a general feeling of love. "Koi" can be selfish, but "ai" is a real love. Here are some lines that explain them well:

Koi is always wanting. Ai is always giving.

"Renai (恋愛)" is written with the kanji characters of both "koi" and "ai." This word means, "romantic love." "Renai-kekkon (恋愛結婚)" is a "love marriage," which is the opposite of "miai-kekkon (見合い結婚, arranged marriage)." "Renai-shousetsu (恋愛小説)" is "a love story" or "a romance novel." The title of the movie, "As Good As It Gets" was translated as "Renai-shousetuska (恋愛小説家, A Romance Novel Writer)."

Talking About Love

Part 3: More Expressions

Here are some proverbs that include "koi."

Koi ni shishou nashi.
恋に師匠なし。

Love needs no teaching.

Koi ni jouge no hedate nashi.
恋に上下の隔てなし。

Love makes all men equal.

Koi wa shian no hoka.
恋は思案のほか。

Love is without reason.

koi wa moumoku.
恋は盲目。

Love is blind.

Koi wa nesshi yasuku
same yasui.
恋は熱しやすく冷めやすい。

Love becomes deep easily,
but cools down soon.

"Soushi-souai (相思相愛)" is one of the yoji-jukugo (四字熟語). It means, "to be in love with one another."

The Japanese sometimes use the English word "love" as well, though it is pronounced as "rabu (ラブ)" (since there is no "L" or "V" sound in Japanese). "A love letter" is usually called "rabu retaa (ラブレター)." "Koibumi (恋文)" sounds a bit dated, and it is more a literary word than a conversational word. "Rabu shiin (ラブシーン)" is "a love scene". Young people say "rabu rabu (ラブラブ, love love)" when they are very much in love.

"Ai(愛)" can be used as a female name. Japan's new royal baby was named Princess Aiko, which is written with the kanji characters for "love(愛)" and "child (子)." However, "koi(恋)" is rarely used as a name.

There is another word pronounced the same as "ai" and "koi". Since their meanings are distinctly different, I don't think there is any confusion between them when used in the proper context. With different kanji characters, "ai(藍)" means, "indigo blue," and "koi(鯉)" means, "carp." Carp streamers that are decorated on Children's Day (May 5th) are called "koi-nobori(鯉のぼり)."

Surprise…..

International market is fraught with surprises…….here is some thing to read and enjoy.

In India, when Proctor & Gamble introduced Vicks Vapour up in India. It caught with a surprise. South Indian are accustomed of rubbing something on their body and not the North Indians. So, P & G had come up with syrup for the North Indians.

A famous American feminine sanitary napkins was surprised with sales figures of its South American subsidiary. A major surge in sales. The company was delighted and little startled. The reason for the surge was the local farmers used it as dust masks!!.

Colgate is in surprise in Vietnam and Cambodia. The tooth brush is used to clean the guns.

When Kellogg’s was first introduced, add cold milk and eat with spoon. Chinese and Koreans are anathema with milk. Japanese find it difficult to drop the chop stick and take the spoons. Indians are used with hot milk.

In America, at the time of meeting, shake hands, look eye to eye and speak. The eye to eye contact means “trust”. In Japan, eye to eye contact means “impolite” and should be avoided look at his neck tie and speak. If the American says ‘yes’ it means he agree to your point. In Japan ‘yes’ means he is listening to you. It did not means Japanese are in agreement with you.

The common OK hand sign is commonly used in America. In Japan it signifies money and in France it is a symbol of money. However, in parts of South America, it a sign of vulgar gesture.

WILL THE LADY ‘LUCK’ SMILE AT ME.

I am the most ineligible bachelor in this country. I am a professional trainer in the field of Cross-Cultural Management. I train people on how to change themselves when going from one cultural to another culture. Don’t interpret and see all the things from your point of view. What is right for you may not be right for the other person. See how the process is going on to get the right result… adaptability…shift in the mind set to see the things in a new way…and so on and so forth. All the high funda stuff. I am successful in my business venture also, but I have horrible gone wrong in my personal life. I failed to change when the time comes.

I always find it difficult to move with my female counterpart. It is true I am more of masculine side. I always believe and say ,”A lion is a lion and it must roar”. It should not change its colour. I am more of raw, blunt and original side. First of all, I never have a good female friend so far in my life. Even in my college days and University days I did hate the way some of friends are so flexible to maintain their girl friends. In Management schools almost all of them have girl friends. I may be an exception and idiot. Some of the friends were to an extend of bunking the classes and even their seminar presentations. They were always under the trees cool and comfortable from morning to evening. I am not expandable and I stick to my time table and so the best place to park myself is the library. We are eight in our group, except myself, all of them had girl friend and some of them got married too.

Now, I look back, I remember my college days and University days, I don’t have any memorable memories to talk about or cherish like some of my friends do have.

Some body has recommended the book “Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus”. I read the book. It is good. It is of little use to me. I don’t have the patience, energy and time to understand this complex female creature. But on the other side I am also a ordinary human being to like to have and cherish female companion. Do I have a luck?. Will the ‘luck’ lady will smile me at last. Only the time will give the answer. So far it’s me and my ambition and my journey…

The law of Nature.

My mother was a great devote of all Gods. She used to go to temples regularly. When I was young, she used to take me along with her. After some time I had quarrel with God. I stopped going to temple and started arguing God is nowhere and does not exist. I think when we were in the worst part of our life. We detest God. I believed in Physical Science. I am a Science student. Once I was a non-believer. Usually, when the argument came, ‘do you believe in God or not’, I was smart enough to answer, “I don’t even think of God” so there is no need to come to point weather God is there or not.

Now I pray to God daily. It may be because, I have seen so many people in my life, I travelled a lot, the life has taught me so many things. I am more matured. In the morning daily prayer to God has the science behind it. Stand before the God close your eyes, bring peace to your mind for a couple of minutes and think of what you want to achieve in your life. Think of the well being of your family, dependent and friends. Reassure what you want to do today, your short term goal and long term achievement. If you keep on thinking your goals and started working towards it, that is the way of success.

The second important turning point is, I have reed the biography of Dr. Albert Einstein. In fact, two books about him. I have reed the ‘Special Theory of Relativity’ and ‘General Theory of Relativity’ and History of Time by Stephen Hawkins. The Theory of Relativity has shaken the fundamentals of Newton Physics. It answered the unknown things. Physical science has been changed never before. It has answer about the mysteries of atomic particles behaviours and answered about the mysteries of the Universe.  Einstein brought the entire concept of the universe on a piece of paper.

Some of the notable paradox about the universe are, If you look at the Universe at any direction, it looks same !!. The gravitational pull of the stars are very very high. Any object that goes near will be sucked inside. Some times the gravitational force has reached a level, the star itself will collapse. It is called Black Hole. It is happening in the universe regularly. Then you may imagine ‘how the solar system exists’. The universe has to collapse with the gravitational pull of the stars. But it is stable. One more paradox is there is also repulsive force between the objects. It is the law of nature. It is the law that balance the forces. It is for the stability and sustainability.

The famous Einstein word that hit my mind and heart is, “God will not role the dice, if the out come is uncertain”. Although Einstein revolutionized the Modern Physics he was not awarded Nobel Prize for ‘Relativity Theory’.

Take the example of Earth. It is the only known planet on the Universe to sustain the life. It is the balancing act of the law of nature to make this earth and atmosphere suitable for the life. It is the law of nature that place the water on the Earth and Oxygen in the atmosphere to sustain the life. The trees, forest, rivers, ocean it is all Governed by law of nature. The stability will be disturbed if someone interferes and if the interference exceeds limit.

Take the example of male and female. Both of them are different. They are different in the way they think, interpret and do things. But it the law of nature that forces then to live together. This is law of nature. It is not wise to change it. It is for the sustainability of the nature and the human beings. Imagine a world with full of men only. The world will become  blood soaked battle field, because that is the thing men will do well. Now Imagine a world only with women. It is witch world, worse, better not to exist.

The eating habits of the people has to be seen from the context of the law of nature. If we imagine, every body is eating meats all day. This world would have been different. If every body is eating only vegetables, the balance would have been different. I think it is the wish of the God to have both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. This balance is a law of nature.

Tamil Nadu should full fill its meaning………..

For the past 25 years I was closely watching the Tamil people crises in Srilanka and in rest of the world. Now I think the time has come to assert ourselves and our just rights.

The Government of India has let the Tamil people down. The Government of India has given 100 crores to Srilankan Government. The money was used to kill the Tamil un armed civilians. India has supplied with surveillance equipment and military assistance. Srilankan Government is happily killing Tamil people.

We are all thinking, the Srilankan army is fighting against the LTTE. It is utter wrong and far from truth. At present situation, the Army is more interested in killing as many Tamil people as possible. That is exactly the reason, 1.65 lacs Tamil people were set on to the field, without water, shelter and food. Any aid from out side the country is also stopped. The Srilankan wants the Tamils to die out of starvations. They want to wipe out the entire Tamil population or to silence the Tamils for ever. This is the truth.

The UN, USA, UK and other countries understand the situation well, India is far from this. The UN report says 6500 civilians were killed in for the past one month. The srilankan Government says, “how come you know it is civilian or a terrorist”.  The media says LTTE is using the people as human shield, is out of sense message. But the other way is the real truth. The army is using the LTTE as mask, to wage the war against the Tamils and the right to kill the Tamil people. The army keep killing Tamil people and said they are all dead on the cross firing. Now the Srilankan army knows very well, since the LTTE is contained in the small area, they can capture it at leisure. If you see the Srilankan army track record in killing and raping Tamil people, it is one of the worst.

Indian media is functioning as if the “agent” of Srilankan Government. Indian Government is behaving as if  “uncle” of Srilankans. All the political parties are acting like a jokers. The indifference of the Congress Government attitude towards the Tamil people should be punished in the LokShaba election. Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi has made the Political blunder of helping the Srilankans. Now the present Congress Government has done the same. It should be thrown out of Tamil Nadu.

Now, I feel after seeing the indifference attitude of the rest of India. I don’t feel there is any pride in being an Indian. They let us down my sprite. I prefer to be a tamilian and ‘Tamil Citizen’. I wish to see the true meaning of Tamil ‘Nadu’ in Tamil.

Monday, April 20, 2009

My sense of Tamilian comes first.

I am great supporter of Tamilian cause in Srilanka. In the 80’s, during my school days I actively took participated in the protest against the sufferings of Tamil people in Srilanka. What the Srilankan’s doing is genocide. They simply want to terminate the Tamil populations. My passion for my own people is great, I consider myself Tamilian first, and then Indian. I have no second thought on this issue.

In the year 1994, When I was doing my management education at a prominent central University in India, we had an opportunity to listen to the speech of a Political leader of LTTE in our auditorium. At the time the sentiment was running high against the LTTE through out India. During the debate every body was pointing fingers at LTTE and termed it as terrorist organization. I was the one who called it as an organization fighting for the Tamils freedom and I stunned the entire audience and I wished the Tamils should separate country and freedom.

Now, the situation in Srilanka is a cause of concern. The sentiment among the Tamil people through out the world is with the Srilankan Tamils. We want the Srilankan Tamils to win the war. It is my wish also. When I spoke to a lot of Tamil people in Tamil Nadu, they also want, Tamilians to win the war.

There are some fundamental truth we have to understand, the first truth is “Srilankan Tamil problems and the “Armed Tamilians” issue cannot be separated”. If there is no “Armed Tamilians” in Srilanka, the Srilankan military will silence the entire Tamil Population in Srilanka with in 24 hours. If there is no Armed Tamilians”, there is no justice for the Tamils. I have come across some ‘genius’ political ‘think tank’ trying to find solutions by separating “Armed Tamilians” and Tamil civilian populations. It is not simply going to work. These people neither understand the ground realities nor the Srilankan ruling class.

“Armed Tamilians”  is a freedom fighting organization or a terrorist group it is a subject of debate. We will do the debate later, now we don’t have the time. Some body may tell “Armed Tamilians”  has arms in their hands and armed struggle is wrong. The axiom is “your enemy will decided which weapon you should take in your arm to fight”.  The truth is, it was the Srilankan ruling class and military that pushed the Tamilians to take arms in their hand.

I know why the Government of India, is silent on this issue. All the Indian neighbouring countries are all failed states. Pakistan has the terrible problem of running over by the Taliban. Nepal has the Maoist Government. Bangladesh is crumbling under internal problems.  Maoist Naxels  are already a big problem in the Red corridor - Jharkand, Chattisgar, Bihar, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. The failing Bangladesh state is pushing up insurgents in North – Eastern states. I am literally in doubts, these North-eastern states, Assam, Megalya, Manipur, Tirupura, Mizoram, is there any law and order or is it part of India ?.

India doesn’t want to add “Armed Tamilians” problems in the South. The issue is really very tricky to handle. If India will not take a bold decision and act openly in favour of Tamil people at this critical juncture, there will be “displeasure” among the Tamil people in Tamil Nadu. This ‘displeasure” will be shown in the Lok sabha election 2009. This will have the long term “displeasure” and implications.

We Tamilians cannot stand as a mute spectators when the Tamilians are massacred on the other side of the ocean. The sense of Tamilians prevails over anything.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE BJP ??????

Bharathia Janatha Party (BJP) is not the party we can trust on and vote for. I have solid case against them.

First of all the core ideology. RSS and BJP are the same. Both of them share the same policies, Philosophies and ideas. Only fools will think they are different. BJP is representing the ‘Brahmins’ and ‘so called forward cast’. BJP is a forward cast party. BJP is not representing the “entire Hindu population”. The BJP is Hippocratic and utter false on claiming, they are the face of Hindus and they are representing the interest of the Hindus.

First time BJP showed their true colour was at the time of pulling down the VP Sing Government over the implementation of the Mandal Commission. The BJP don’t want to share their ‘space’ with the Other Backward Cast (OBC) people. It is proved beyond doubt that forward cast people have the ‘unwritten rule’ or ‘invisible understanding’ that they will favour or recruit or give opportunity only to their own people. They occupy all the best possible positions. They think it is their sole privilege. In fact it was.

Once I have seen Teachers, most of them are ‘cross bands’. Now it is open field. Once I have seen Bank staffs, most of them are Brahmins and forward cast, now it is open field. This example list will keep on going. Now a stage has come, we can do business, not even interacting with any body in this country and earn tons of money. Now the world is the play ground. The hard truth is the forward cast people is steady losing their grounds and they know the fact very well. It is the first time in my life I am able to see the Brahmins are really struggling and find it hard to make decent earnings.

The BJP representing the forward cast knows it and wants to consolidate their position. But the strategy and the weapon they have chosen is wrong. In fact it has back fired.

At the time VP Sing Government was pulled down, over Mandal Commission implementation, I was in Bihar, representing my Pondicherry State playing for the National Chess Championship. I know how the situation was. It is violent and terrible in support of VP Sing and Mandal Commission implementation. I have seen it in my own eyes. The media has taken the opposite stand.

The BJP should explain why it is against the OBC. There are lot of OBC in Hindus. Don’t rubbish with meritocracy.

The strategy and the weapon BJP has taken is the “Hindutuva” agenda and the “Ram temple”. Their intention is to kindle the passion among the Hindus. This lead to the demolition of the Babri Masjid. This was the starting point of the “communal division” politics in India. The out come is the “gun, bomb and terrorist culture” in India and rightly BJP is responsible for this.

The reason for demolition of the Babri masjid was, Once there was a Ram temple at that place, Ayoudhya and it was destroyed by Aurangezeb and Babri masjid was built over it. It was a mistake. The same mistake was committed by the BJP in a more civilized and democratic world.

There was communal tension between Hindus and Muslims during the IndiaPakistan partition. But now it is different situation. After Babri masjid , followed by Mumbai riots and Gujrat carnage, there is no end in sight. After Muslims hit back with Guns and bombs the division between the Hindus and Muslims become permanent. The fear psycho between the two communities becomes permanent. The entire credit goes to the BJP.

After their experiment with the Muslims, BJP want to do the same thing with the Christians also. The stage was set at the Kandhamal in Orissa. The BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh move against the Christians Institutions property is of bad taste.

The BJP wants to dump both the Muslims and Christians out of this country or both the community should keep low profile. It is not possible. BJP is chewing something it cannot swallow. But what the BJP don’t know is the back fire of its divisive agenda.

What I am going to tell now is a hard fact. It is not easily digestible. It is a dangerous trend the country is moving along. Now all the Vanniyars are coming together, all the Nadars forming an association, Yadavs are forming together, Gujjars are making together, Marathi…., telugu….., all forming separate organization for their community… and in India you know the list will never end.

They all form groups, they will help with in the group. Out side the group !?.... They are going to fight with each other for their own space.

Well done BJP you have divided this country successfully…………But where is your space ?????????

The Japanese Election

The Parliament of Japan is called the Diet (kokkai), which is made up of the House of Representatives (shuugi-in) and the House of Councilors (sangi-in). The House of Representatives has 500 members and the House of Councilors has 252.

The members of both houses are elected by direct vote of the people. All men and women who have reached the age of 20 have the right to vote (women were given the right to vote in 1945).

Because Japan adopted the parliamentary cabinet system (giinnaikakusei), the prime minister (shushou or souri-daijin) is designated by the both houses of the Diet among its members, before the conduct of any other business. For that purpose, each conducts a ballot under the run-off system. If the two houses choose different individuals, then a joint committee of both houses is appointed to agree on a common candidate. Ultimately, however, if the two houses do not agree within ten days, the decision of the House of Representatives is deemed to be that of the Diet. Therefore, the House of Representatives can theoretically ensure the appointment of any Prime Minister it wishes. The candidate is then formally appointed to office by the Emperor.

The Prime Minister must resign if the House of Representatives adopts a motion of no confidence or defeats a vote of confidence, unless the House of Representatives are dissolved within ten days.

The Prime ministerial candidates also must be civilians, though all the Japanese are civilians since there is no military. Prime minister chooses state ministers (daijin), a majority of whom must be Diet members.

Their terms of service are 4 years for the House of Representatives and 6 years for House of Councilors. Unlike local council members, who usually serve out their full terms, the members of the House of Representatives are usually interrupted in their terms by House dissolution and general elections.

That's one of reasons that Japanese Prime Ministers change so often. Japan has had seven different Prime Ministers in during Clinton's administration. Most Japanese are not very political due to the way the prime minister is chosen.

Here are the Japanese Prime Ministers from the past 10 years (Family names are written first).
